area comprises of midland as well as seashore lying between the Arabian Sea and Venmbanattu Kayal. It has a total shoreline area stretching at 82 Km which occupies 13.9% of the total State's seashore area. Alappuzha’s Rivers are Pamba and Manimala Achenkovil which merges at Pamba river. Alappuzha district doesn’t consist of any forest land areas.

Edathuva is the famous South Indian Pilgrimage centre, it has the most famous 'St. George Church' which is thronged by tourists as well as locales. 'Punnamadakayal' is the most famous amazing location where Nehru Trophy Vallam Kali that is Boat Race is held. Punnapra Vayalar has the famous 'Raktasakshi Mandapam'. Shree Krishna Temple which is one of the famous and oldest temple is favorite amongst tourists and locales. The place has famous theatre art.
