Aluva is the taluk headquarter of Aluva Taluk, it includes places like Anappara, Vadakumbhagam, Angamaly, Thekkumbhagam, Nedubasserry, Chengamanadu Desom, Mattoor, Chowara, Mookkannoore, Malayattoor, Kalady, Thuravoor, Parakkadavu, Karukutty, Manjapra, Kizhakke Aluva and Padinjra Aluva.
Kothamangalam is the taluk headquarter of Kothamangalam taluk, it includes places like Eramalloore, Varapetty, Kadavoor, Pothanicadu, Neryiamangalam, Kottapady, Kothamangalam, Keerampara, Kuttamangalam, Pindimana and Thrikariyoor.

Paravur is the taluk headquarter of Paravur taluk, it includes places like Alangadu, Varapuzha, Chennamangalam, Puthenvelikkara, Eloor, Moothakunnam, Ezhikkara, Kottuvally, Karumalloore, Kadungalloor, Kunnukara, Paravur and Vadekkekara.
Fort Kochi is the Taluk Headquarter of Kochi taluk and it includes places like Chellanam, Thoppumpady, Eda Kochi, Puthuvypeen, Edavanakkad, Pallipuram, Ezhumkunnapuzha, Nayarambalam, Fort Kochi, Kuzhuppilly, Kubalangi, Mattancherry, Njarackal, Palluruthy and Rameswaram.

Muvattupuzha is the Taluk Headquarter of Muvattupuzha taluk, it includes places like Arakuzha, Vellorkunnam, Elanji, Thiru Marady, Eranallore, Piravom, Kalloorkadu, Onakkoor, Koothattukulam, Mulavoor, Maneedu, Marady, Manjalloore, Memuri, Muvattupuzha, Palakuzha, Ramamangalam and Valakom.

The Geographical Nature of this place is as per details followed : 50 % of midlands, 20% low land and 30% Highland. Highlands is located at Kothamangalam Taluk which is near the border of Idukki district. The various rivers flowing here are Periyar and Muvattupuzha Thodupuzha. The backwaters are located at  Vembanatt, Varapuzha and Kodungallore. The forest lands area are spread over a distance of 8,123 hectres.

Aluva is famous for the Festival Shivarathri, the nearby villages and nearby areas come here for celebration. The place called Bhoothathankettu is the most visited places of Kerala located at a distance of 8 Kms north east of Kothamangalam.

Bolgatty
Bolgatty was built in the year 1744 as the famous Dutch Palace, it was later converted in to a British residential palace. Present day it marks one of the famous chains of KTDC hotels. The palace is surrounded by six hectares of green lawns having a Golf course inside.

Cherai Beach
Cherai Beaches, heart warming waters are latest addition to tourist guide, its marking its presence in one of the spectacular beaches of Kerala. It is located at Cherai in Ernakulam district. The district boosts of amazing golden beaches and coconut palm corridors, historical places and monuments, cherai backwaters. You can get at Cherai Beach by taking a 15 minutes drive from North of Paravur.

Dutch Palace
The palace was built in the year 1568 by Portuguese when they ruled the place, it was later handed over to the Maharaja of Kochi, Veera Kerala Varma. The palace was built by Dutch people, so it’s famously known as the Dutch Palace.

Edapally
Edapally is a Christian pilgrimage centre; it has famous St. George Church.

Fort Kochi
Fort Kochi has 1st ever church to be ever built by Portuguese, the church known as 'St. Francis Church' was built in the year 1503. This is the site where Vasco da Gama was buried in the year 1524; later on the remains were transferred to Lisbon, Portugal. You can see his tombstone inside this church.

Hill Palace Museum
Hill Palace Museum famously known as the King Palace is located at a distance of 12 Km south east of Ernakulam.

Tripunithura
Tripunithura is famous for its paintings and Epigraphy. It has some famous collections from Travancore and cochin’s royal families. The surrounding areas of the palace is covered with lush green plants, and the palace has lots of herbal plants around.

Jewish Synagogue
Jewish Synagogue is located at Mattancherry which is at a distance of 8 km from Ernakulam, it was constructed in the year 1568. You can see the curlings of old commandments at Synagogue and also the Chinese codes. The original building of Synagogue was destroyed during 1662 portuguese raid. It was then rebuilt later after 2 years of attack when the Dutch took over Kochi.

Kalady
Kalady is situated at a distance of 45 km from Kochi. The great Adi Sankaracharaya who lived from 786 – 820 was born here, he was a famous scholar and philosopher from India, he did great work in reviving the Hindu religion and also he was the founder of advatic philosophy who established mutts all over India.

Kallil Temple
Kallil Temple is located at a distance of 13 Km from Perumbhavoor. The idol in the temple is made up from a single stone. The temple was once an old Jain temple now the Hindus worship it.

Cochin
Cochin has the mainland of Ernakulam. It has the Islands of Willington, Gundu and Bolgatty Harbour. The famous places here are Fort Cochin and Mattancherry located at the southern peninsula and amazing Vypeen Island located at north of Fort Cochin. These famous islands are linked by ferry. There are bridges too to help you navigate between Ernakulam to Willington Island and the Fort Cochin, Mattancherry peninsula. The historic places of cochin are found at Fort Kochi or Mattancherry.

Kochin Carnival
The Kochin carnival was started in the year 1984 mainly to attract the tourist. People come to visit the carnival from all parts of the world.

Kodanadu
Kodanadu has the famous Elephant training centre which is administered by Forest Department.

Kothamangalam
Kothamangalam has the famous ' Marthoma Cheriya Pally' which is Pilgrimage centre. The place has the mortal remains of 17th century Saint, Mar Baselious from Middle East.

Malayattoor Mount
Malayattoor Mount is the famous Christian pilgrimage centre.

Museum of Kerala History
The Museum is located at Edappally, which speak volumes about the great Keralite history and it is located at a distance of 10 km north-east of Ernakulam on the way to Aluva.
